She auditioned and was selected as a member of the elite variety show for six years going on 12 tours traveling to 35 countries entertaining troops around the world.  She also represented the Washington Cheerleaders on a cricket cheer team in India after retiring from the field.  Her direct contributions were recognized throughout her NFL Cheerleading career with her many awards to include:  2001-2002 Director’s Choice Award, 2002-2003 Director’s Choice Award, 2003-2004 Outstanding Leadership & Choreography, 2004-2005 Director’s Choice Award, and the coveted 2005-2006 Lifetime Achievement Award.

After retiring from the field in 2006, Kimberly immediately joined the Washington Football Cheerleader Alumni Association (WFCAA) and has been an active member.  She served as a Decade Representative, Secretary for 11 years, Vice President for 5 years, and is her current Decade Representative, Board Member, and the President of the WFCAA.  She is also a member of the National Football Cheerleader Alumni Organization (NFCAO) and NFL Alumni Association.  Kimberly works for CACI as an Executive Director overseeing the military health portfolio of contracts.  Kimberly is married and has two children, son, Reagan and daughter, Chamberlyn.

  Laura Brittingham, Vice President

Laura Brittingham has been a WFCAA member for the past 12 years. She is a lifelong Redskins fan, growing up as a dancer with the Delaware Ballet in the Dover, Delaware area and as a University of Delaware Dance Team member.  Loving the Burgundy and Gold, she was happy to make the long commute from DE to the DMV for her two years (2002, 2003) as a Redskins Cheerleader.  She also was a member of the elite variety show traveling with the Department of Defense:  one tour being throughout the Balkans for the US Army and the second for an “All Stars” Naval tour through Japan and Korea.  Laura was named Rookie of the Year in 2002.  Laura met her husband Jonathan Brittingham, after a game in November of her second season, they married and returned for two more seasons together; Laura as an Ambassador, and Jon as a Flag Boy.  Laura worked for 10 years in medical device sales before starting her and Jon’s dream business on their family farm in Southern Delaware.  They now own Brittingham Farms Lavender & Lambs which is a grain farm, Lavender field and wedding venue with heritage breed sheep, and farm store that is open to the public year-round.  Laura and Jon have three children, Beau, Barrett and Lilly.  Laura is beyond grateful and humbled to serve as the Vice President for the WFCAA and states that she’ll never forget how the opportunity to be an NFL cheerleader changed her life for the better.

  Barbara Strittmatter, Secretary

Barbara Flaherty Strittmatter cheered in the NFL for Washington for 2 years (1984, and 1985). She recalls her time on the field fondly at RFK stadium in DC when the team was fabulous and the fans literally “rocked” the house. The energy was always electric and you could feel the whole place vibrate along with the crowds at each game. At the end of her 2nd year her job as a Flight Attendant relocated her to Pittsburgh, PA which led to the hanging up of her poms. In the decade that followed she moved back to the DMV, married and welcomed 3 children (Two sons and a daughter) and joined the Washington Football Cheerleader Alumni Association (WFCAA) in its first years of existence. Over the years since, she has been an active member participating in the Avon 3 Day Walk and the Susan G Komen 2 Day Walk in support of breast cancer research as part of the Washington D.C. Team of Cheers2aCure. She is in her first year as an Executive Board Member and is the Secretary of the WFCAA.  She is also a member of the National Football Cheerleader Alumni Organization (NFCAO) and NFL Alumni Association.
